Packing Material Terrain Project

Here are a few pictures of my terrain attempts made from old hard drive package material.  I have a bunch of this stuff which resembles Mayan ruins.

Hard Drive Terrain

I've started making terrain pieces out of old hard drive packaging materials.  I'll post pictures soon.

My First Terrain Attempt

This was my first attempt at making a wall using polystyrene.

Finding My Army

Earlier this year I was in an antique store with my wife looking for furniture when I noticed a few miniature figures on top of an old plastic shelving unit. After picking one up I realized that most of them were 40K models but some of which I had never seen before. Keep in mind that I had a very limited knowledge of 40K but I have wanted to get into it for a long time. I've been working on terrain and other things just for fun but never had enough 'cash' to start an army.

Well, after looking through several of the drawers in the old plastic shelving unit I quickly realized that I had found the mother load to jump start my army . I bought the entire thing for $50 and quickly raced home to see what was hidden within this old shelving unit. When I pulled them all out, I found a bunch of Ork and these other short sleeve guys who I could not identify. Most of them looked like they had been painted by a three year old but they were still in good shape. I hit the web searching for these rough looking characters and quickly found out who I had. The Catachan Jungle Fighters!

Here they are right after I took them out of the drawers:

Since then I have stripped them and cleaned them up and they are waiting to be painted. So this is where my blog begins...
